TCSI LEADERS PRESENT TALK AT 2021 BIC WINTER CONFERENCE

The Cyber Security Intellects (TCSI) had a great time recently participating in the Blacks In Cybersecurity (BIC) Winter Conference held February 5th & 6th 2021. BIC is a meetup group and conference series that helps to highlight and elevate the Black community in cybersecurity. The Winter Conference is their flagship conference, providing a relaxed and fun environment for attendees to participate in a number of talks, workshops, and activities centered around cybersecurity.

TCSI’s talk, “Can You See Yourself in Cyber?” was presented by our Executive Director, Samantha, and Chair of the Board, Ehijele on February 6th at 1:30pm ET. It was delivered with a pop culture spin and was geared toward conference attendees interested in, yet unaware of, how cybersecurity affects us day-to-day as well as looking to learn how to dive into cybersecurity as a hobby and/or career field, but was open to anyone. After stepping through the main components of the talk — background on what Cyber is, Cyber in the media, Cyber stats, traditional and nontraditional ways to dive into the Cyber field, and various available opportunities in the field — Samantha and Ehijele then briefly shared their unique backgrounds and the paths that got them to where they are today.

The talk was recorded and will be posted on the TCSI website at a later date. Check out BIC’s website for more on their offerings and keep an eye out here on TCSI’s website to learn more about what we have in store this year!
